Meitav Kids

A Flexible and Liquid Savings Plan for Your Children’s Future

Meitav Kids is an attractive savings tool for parents who want to save for their children’s future for various purposes, such as college, a post-army service trip, a car or even providing initial capital for buying a home. It is essentially an investment provident fund for all purpose, combining professional investment management, liquidity of funds and tax benefits.

Starting a savings plan early, when children are young, will enable the compound interest effect, which increases the accumulated savings amount. Like any investment provident fund, Meitav Kids has an annual deposit ceiling of ILS 83,641 per person (as of 2026).

Questions & Answers

Meitav Kids is a savings plan for children operated through an investment provident fund, essentially making it a provident fund for children. Parents can deposit up to ILS 83,641 (as of 2026) per calendar year for each child and enjoy the various investment advantages available in investment provident funds. If you’re thinking about long-term savings for your children, this is one of the most successful solutions on the market.

The ceiling is, per child, up to ILS 83,641 (as of 2026) per calendar year. This means a family with three children can open up to three accounts and invest up to approximately ILS 334,564 per calendar year.

It depends. Those who choose to withdraw their funds as a lump sum will be required to pay a 25% capital gains tax, just as with mutual funds, savings policies and other financial products.

In contrast, those who choose to withdraw their funds as an annuity after age 60 will enjoy a 100% tax exemption.

No problem at all: Log in to our members’ website, enter your ID number and mobile number, and you’re in. On the site, you can check the status of your savings, deposits, and returns.

The Savings for Every Child program is undoubtedly a commendable government initiative, but it won’t accumulate enough funds to fulfill your children’s dreams by age 18 or 21.

As a reminder, under this program, the National Insurance Institute deposits ILS 58 per month for each child in Israel, with parents having the option to double the monthly deposit to ILS 116.

This is the deposit limit, and beyond that, you cannot increase deposits in the Savings for Every Child program.

What do you get? A nice savings amount, but typically not enough. Higher education in Israel, as is well known, costs tens of thousands of shekels, as does buying a new car or an extended trip abroad.

Yes. While it is possible to open an account in the name of any family member – the mother, father, children, grandchildren, or spouse – it’s important to know that opening an investment provident fund in someone else’s name is akin to giving an irrevocable gift to that person. This means that the management and release of the funds will be handled solely by that person, unless they are a minor.

Yes. As with all investment provident funds offered by Meitav, you can choose an investment track in Meitav Kids that suits your financial needs and goals. Upon joining Meitav Kids digitally, you will be enrolled in a general investment track, which serves as the default track. Interested in a different track? Contact our customer service via chat, email or phone, and we’ll transfer you to the desired track.

The advantages of investing in Meitav Kids were briefly outlined above, but it’s worth elaborating further, as this is an investment tool that optimally combines short-term and medium- to long-term benefits. The key advantages of saving with Meitav Kids, as a provident fund for children, include the following:

  1. High liquidity of funds.
  2. Professional investment management aimed at achieving maximum returns.
  3. Diversified investments and broad investment allocation, with the option to join a wide variety of investment tracks and quickly switch (without a tax event) between tracks or funds.
  4.  Ability to invest in non-tradable assets – Meitav Kids leverages the scale advantage of provident funds for the benefit of savers.
  5. Tax benefits: First, tax deferral, meaning you deal with the tax authorities only when withdrawing the funds. Second, children who continue saving into adulthood and persist until age 60 (retirement age) can withdraw the funds as a monthly pension completely exempt from tax.
  6. Relatively low management fees: Management fees are only 0.8% of the annual accumulated balance.

Exactly what it sounds like. If you request to withdraw the funds from your Meitav Kids account, the savings will be transferred within four business days from the date of the withdrawal request to the managing company, and from there to you.

The decision should be made considering factors such as your current financial situation, your projected financial situation in 5 to 10 years, the number of children you currently have, and the number of children you expect to have. Of course, you should assess and understand the level of investment risk that suits you, knowing that the lower the risk level, the lower the potential return.

You can easily enroll digitally from any device at any time and open a Meitav Kids account.

Two words: compound interest. Albert Einstein famously called it “the eighth wonder of the world” and added, “Those who understand it, earn it; those who don’t, pay it.”

Compound interest is essentially accumulated interest, where the return on our savings grows over time. In other words, the return earned in the first year is reinvested and generates interest or returns in the second year. The return in the second year generates profit in the third year, and so on. Thanks to this wonder, a savings plan that achieves, for example, a 7% annual return over ten years will not yield a 70% profit but rather approximately 97%.

Therefore, the earlier you start a savings plan for your children and persist over the long term, the stronger this wonder (compound interest) becomes, as it generates increasingly larger profits over time.

You can make regular monthly deposits, a one-time deposit, or a combination of both, meaning a one-time deposit alongside regular monthly deposits. In any case, what you decide at the start of the process does not bind you moving forward: If you wish, you can make additional one-time deposits, pause the monthly deposits, etc. – according to your needs and goals.

There can be countless reasons to start a savings plan for children, a provident fund for children, or any other form of long-term savings for children. In the context of Meitav Kids, some of the most notable goals include college studies, a post-army service trip, buying a car, or even providing initial capital for buying a home.

For your children, Meitav Kids is a springboard to their adult life. We know you’d move mountains for them, so what’s a smart, focused, and worthwhile savings plan in comparison?

Advantages of Meitav Kids – Savings for Children

Why Start Early?

Parents who open a savings account early are expected to benefit from the compound interest effect. This is an effective mechanism in which the annual return earned is reinvested in the fund, generating additional returns, and so on. Over the years, compound interest is expected to add tens or even hundreds of thousands of shekels to the savings.

Annual Deposit Ceiling

In Meitav Kids’ investment provident fund, there is a winning combination of experienced investment management, fund liquidity and significant tax benefits. This product has an annual deposit ceiling of ILS 79,005 per calendar year (as of 2026). However, it’s noted that this ceiling applies per saver. So, if you have three children, you can deposit up to approximately ILS 237,000 per year for them.

Fully Digital Product

Investment provident funds were introduced in Israel in 2016 as part of the Ministry of Finance’s effort to reintroduce the public to provident funds, which were previously non-liquid savings channels. As a result, an investment provident fund is a digital product, enhancing its flexibility and transparency. You can quickly join Meitav Kids, change investment tracks (without incurring a tax event), check the account status, make withdrawals and update beneficiaries – all swiftly and simply.
